Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, USA, Hannah Payette Peterson is a graduate of Amherst College with majors in biology and Spanish. She has always had a passion for art, and has loved painting and drawing since she was little.
Her art is often influenced by her fascination with science, particularly biology and astronomy. Her unique surreal style, partly inspired by the magical realism of Latin American literature and paintings by artists such as René Magritte and Josh Keyes, allows her to mix several ideas and themes into one painting to create dreamlike worlds. She also loves to travel (she spent a semester studying abroad in Chile), and she finds inspiration in the many people and places she encounters while exploring the world.
